Becoming a Mother: The First Transformation

Motherhood reshaped me in ways I never could have predicted. It was a journey of rediscovery — of my body, my mind, my capacity to love, and my limits. In these stories, I share the messy, beautiful truths of early motherhood: its sleeplessness, its quiet miracles, and its power to break you open in the best and worst ways.

Womanhood Beyond Motherhood

Even as a mother, I am still, and always, a woman. Navigating identity beyond the labels — daughter, partner, friend, professional — means honoring the parts of myself that existed before motherhood and will remain after. Here, I explore the sometimes competing roles I inhabit, and how I fight to keep space for myself amid the demands of caring for others.

The Invisible Labors

There is work we do that no one sees — the emotional tending, the mental lists, the holding up of a family’s dreams. This section honors the invisible labors of women and mothers, calling them by name and giving them the respect they deserve. Through these reflections, I hope to build solidarity and recognition for what is too often overlooked.

As Yogi

Stillness Between Stories

Yoga grounds me. It’s the pause between the chapters, the inhale before the words come. As a lifelong student of presence and healing, I bring that same mindfulness into my storytelling. The practice of yoga reminds me to listen — to my body, to silence, and to intuition. It allows me to process emotion, release judgment, and return to myself. Whether through movement or stillness, breath or reflection, yoga deepens my capacity to tell stories with empathy, spaciousness, and truth.
