Hello

I'm Asmara Tekle

I write and share stories grounded in my truth as a mom, woman, and wife. My stories shine a light on what it means to be human and universal themes of love, family, sex, justice, and identity. Having made more than 50 revolutions around the sun, I’ve come to this role of storyteller later in life. Yet, this wisdom of the years arguably gives my stories a depth of authenticity and empathy that I might have been more afraid to share at another time of my life. I invite you to listen, reflect, and perhaps even find your own story within mine. Thank you for visiting

Stories That Connect

Asmara crafts narratives that speak to our shared human experience — love, struggle, growth, and resilience.

Truth in Every Word

Each story is rooted in her lived truth, layered with emotion, empathy, and meaning.

A Life of Layers

Mom. Lawyer. Yogi. Woman. Asmara’s multidimensional journey brings depth to every perspective she shares.

Wisdom With Time

With over 50 journeys around the sun, her storytelling reflects courage, maturity, and unapologetic honesty.

Why Me

Because Storytelling Needs Soul.

In a world overflowing with noise, Asmara’s voice cuts through with clarity, heart, and truth. Her stories aren’t just reflections — they’re invitations to feel, to question, and to connect.

Rooted in her lived experience as a mom, woman, and former law school dean, Asmara brings wisdom, vulnerability, and fierce authenticity to the page. Her stories explore love, family, justice, identity — the human themes that matter most.

In an age where information is easy to find, real connection is rare. That’s what makes her stories unforgettable.

As Storyteller

Words That Stay

Storytelling, for me, is not performance — it's presence. I write to make sense of the world, to hold space for truth, and to connect across our shared humanity. My stories are drawn from real moments — motherhood, marriage, aging, joy, pain — and shaped by a desire to speak honestly, without polish or pretense. I believe stories can transform us, challenge us, and most importantly, remind us we are not alone. This is the heart of my work — to create connection through narrative.

As Legal Thinker & Cultural Challenger

Have a Scoop of Grandpa

In a world that often sanitizes death, Asmara dares to reimagine it. Through legal scholarship and sharp social commentary, this work explores mortality composting as a radical, respectful return to the earth — a challenge to the industrialized deathcare system. With wit, reverence, and intellectual rigor, she asks not only what the law allows, but what our values demand: a more sustainable, meaningful relationship with life’s final chapter.

As Yogi

Stillness Between Stories

Yoga grounds me. It’s the pause between the chapters, the inhale before the words come. As a lifelong student of presence and healing, I bring that same mindfulness into my storytelling. The practice of yoga reminds me to listen — to my body, to silence, and to intuition. It allows me to process emotion, release judgment, and return to myself. Whether through movement or stillness, breath or reflection, yoga deepens my capacity to tell stories with empathy, spaciousness, and truth.
